Ourweek
Does OurWeek replace my project management tool?

No. Task management is a serious thing. We love tools like Trello, Jira, Asana... we let them be the best in field.

OurWeek is a coordination tool that focuses on team. It’s integrated with popular task management tools so you can refer easily on your tasks while you do your team check-ins, or set your weekly goals for the week...

Does OurWeek replace Slack?

No. We accept and appreciate that Slack is an excellent team communication tool. We love slack ❤️. OurWeek does not replace the way your team communicates.

In fact, OurWeek is much more meaningful when you use _with_ Slack. We have an awesome slack bot that will make you feel you have a brand new uncle in your team: “Mr Carson”.

OurWeek is not here to replace how you converse with

Does OurWeek replace X tool/service?

Most likely no. OurWeek is pretty unique. We didn’t create OurWeek because we weren’t happy with tools/services we were using. We created it to make them connected. We don’t have ambitious goals to “kill X”, heck we find it unnecessary, why to create another “task management” tool, or “cloud storage” solution while there is very capable and rich tools out there. We’re here to make them smarter, work better with your team.

At the end of the day, we’re not focusing how you get to your goal, but helping you to get to your goal, week by week, day by day...

Do I have to do scrum method or do standup meetings to use OurWeek?

No, you don’t have to change how you work. Although OurWeek’s main promise is about having regular updates collected from team members, it will require some adaptation period that needs team effort to stick to it to see if it is helping your team to coordinate better.

Making OurWeek silent is easy (like disable slack bot, unsubscribe notifications...), but OurWeek works when it acts as your mom who thinks best for you, that’s why she is making you wear additional layer in the morning before you leave home that you thank her later in the day when you feel warm in cold :)

Where did OurWeek idea came from?

We are a fully remote, distributed (multiple timezone) and very open/transparent technology team. We use many tools and services in our day to day work like Slack, GSuite, Jira, Trello, Quip... But these tools don’t fill the gap of cohesive communication between team members throughout the day. In order to collaborate well, we (as team members, not managers) need to know what’s going on, retain the human connection and also have healthy information flow between what’s going on without micro managing or going crazy about meetings. Best working model for us has been a mix short daily kick off meetings supported by asynchronous daily updates. For long time we follow more primitive method to dump our updates on google docs, quip docs, but these docs remained static. It only mean something if you read everything within the day and required too much unnecessary manual back and forth between team members. So we started to automate...

Starting with smarting up these updates, then having reminders and automated follow ups. And these follows ended up being a robotic voice in our slack team. Then we gave it a character :) Mr Carson.

What we created lived only for us for a while then we decided to share it with the world. It became OurWeek.

Who created OurWeek?

We’re a small passionate digital product people both create useful tools like these as well as do client work to pay the bills. We love thinking about, and create delightful digital experiences. Learn more about us and see our work at https://nomadinteractive.co (https://nomadinteractive.co/) Who knows, maybe we create something together?

Is OurWeek free?

Short answer is yes for you forever. We created OurWeek because we needed it, we used it long (uh, hello, it’s well tested!) and wanted to share with the world.

Long answer is, probably not free forever for new generation of users. We have intention to keep it free until scaling it to a lot of happy users that will require more resources for server, and maintenance costs. We believe this won’t happen soon (or we have no idea how many people is waiting for a service like this :). OurWeek will operate for free for this period.

In the future, even if we go with paid model, we appreciate you are being early users which will keep the service for free for users until a paid plan is announced. So, good news is, it’ll be free for you forever.

We are no evil corp, makes every move for money. We believe in good, and we created OurWeek service for being useful to ourselves as well as others. We’re small, passionate, good and fair people and even in expensive costs to us, we don’t have any intentions to ask anything more than cost of a cup of coffee for a month per user.

I’m a process-nerd. I have tons of ideas or very unique way to work. How can I get OurWeek to adapt to my workflow?

OMG. We’re also process-nerds. We go nuts when we see a factory, assembly line, thinker about “how does an airport function?“... Ok losing the point...

We love to hear how you work. Then we can help you to adapt or even we may tweak the features for your needs depending on the case. Let’s start the conversation at [email protected]

What is OurWeek Beta Program and how can I participate?

For the early adopters who love our product, we have a Beta release program that we release more experimental features or features we created for ourselves but won’t fit in the product well yet.

Send an email mentioning beta program to [email protected] and we’ll pick it up from there...
